It is very common that people tend to choose the most popular medium, which everybody follows, to promote themselves – whether it is conventional mainstream media or electronic media or social media.
Of late, TikTok, a short mobile video application, has been gaining a lot of popularity. Right from villages to big cities, everybody has developed a lot of craze for uploading their short videos on TikTok.
Naturally, it has caught the attention of the Telugu film industry. If it is a big film with crazy dialogues and songs, the fans themselves upload the videos on the social media platforms.
But what about a small-budget film, which also requires a lot of publicity? So, they are making use of TikTok to upload their promos, including dialogues and songs by paying money to the followers.
According to sources, director Maruthi has reportedly spent Rs 50,000 to popularise the song “Oh Baava..” of his latest film “Prathiroju Pandage..” through TikTok.
Apparently, he has picked up girls who have earnt a lot of fame through TikTok, called them up and engaged them to promote this song through TikTok by paying Rs 1,000 for each posting on this mobile application.
Hero Nikhil went a step ahead and called these so-called TikTok celebrities to Hyderabad. He paid them money to pose for videos to be uploaded on TikTok and he, too, appeared with them in these videos.
Similarly, hero Karithikeya also followed the same route and posed for videos for TikTok. It looks like Telugu heroes will have to spend some time for doing Tik Tok videos, too, as part of promoting their films!
