Chief Minister of Telangana, Revanth Reddy, is on a mission to develop a "Future City" with a perception strategy aimed at attracting realtors and boosting the real estate business in Hyderabad.
On the other hand, Chandrababu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, is fully focused on building Amaravati City with the goal of creating a bustling real estate market and establishing it as the state's major capital city.
Similarly, the Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddharamiah is all set to announce the KHIR project with the same objective, to enhance the real estate business in the region using a perception strategy. This project as they say is inspired by global examples like Singapore’s Biopolis, Research Triangle Park, Science Park, KBIC, and the Boston Innovation Cluster, the groundbreaking project will be situated approximately 50 km from Kempegowda International Airport.
These three chief ministers are heavily focussed in the development of real estate, which they believe is the ideal way to govern and stimulate economic growth as well as create works for their loyalists.
Generally, cities like Hyderabad and Bengaluru have the potential to grow through multiple expansions under the banner of new city developments. Areas like Gachibowli, Kokapet, and the Financial District in Hyderabad have developed in this manner.
However, Amaravati is a completely new location, essentially a village, lacking the basic infrastructure to be considered a city. It requires significant investment and time to be developed, and a strong perception strategy is necessary to shape its growth.
It remains to be seen how successful these three CMs will be in their respective missions.
