Margadarsi Chit Fund Company Limited's chairman, Cherukuri Ramoji Rao, and managing director, Cherukuri Sailaja, did not appear for questioning by the CID in Vijayawada.
Notices were issued by the CID for both Ramoji Rao and Sailaja to appear at their office on August 16 and 17, respectively.
However, Ramoji Rao was absent for questioning on Wednesday, while Sailaja missed her scheduled questioning on Thursday.
This marks the second instance where both Ramoji Rao and Sailaja have evaded CID questioning conducted outside of their residences.
Previously, the CID had requested their presence for questioning at the Guntur office on July 5, which they did not attend.
The course of action that the AP CID will take to conduct the questioning of both Ramoji Rao and Sailaja remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, the CID, in collaboration with officials from Stamps and Registration and Revenue Intelligence, initiated searches across all 37 branches of Margadarsi in Andhra Pradesh.
The focus of these searches involves verifying records related to tax payments, account books, and customer bid money payments.
Sources indicate that officials are also scrutinizing the company's bank transactions across all 37 branches.
