People won't believe Naidu, says Vundavalli

At last, former Congress MP from Rajahmundry and self-styled intellectual Vundavalli Arun Kumar has come out with clarity on which side the people of Andhra Pradesh are going to be in the upcoming elections.

“The people know very well which party they should vote for in the coming elections. They have already come to a decision in this regard,” Vundavalli said speaking to an electronic channel.

Acknowledging the presence of anti-incumbency sentiments against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government among urban voters, especially due to issues like poor infrastructure such as bad roads, Vundavalli noted that even educated voters, to some extent, are opposing Jagan.

“But Jagan is banking on the rural voters, as more than 80 percent of voters have benefitted from the welfare schemes of Jagan. The people are very happy with the schemes, as no government in the world, not just in India, is crediting money directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries,” he said. Readmore!

Vundavalli said the people are very much aware that if Chandrababu Naidu is voted to power, he will do away with all these welfare schemes definitely.

“Naidu has the history of being anti-welfare schemes and pro-corporate. So, people won’t believe his words, even if he says he will give more welfare schemes than Jagan,” he said.

The former MP said had it been Pawan Kalyan as the chief minister candidate, people could have believed him. But they know Naidu will definitely abolish all these schemes, as he said the welfare schemes have made the state bankrupt.

“That is why, they know whom to vote in the next elections,” he said.

Vundavalli, however, sounded a word of caution for Jagan. He said the upcoming election is a fight between Jagan and Jagan himself.

“Though the YSRCP candidates are contesting all the 175 constituencies, Jagan thinks the people are voting for him, not the candidates,” he said.

He said he was not able to understand with what confidence Jagan is resorting to so many changes in the candidates’ list and reshuffling of constituencies.

“So, he is responsible for the defeat or victory of his candidates,” he said.
