Peddireddy family keeping away from party activities?

It has been quite some one has come across any statement from senior YSR Congress party leader, former minister and present Punganur MLA Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy or his son, Rajampet Lok Sabha member Peddireddy Mithun Reddy.

Though Mithun Reddy has been appointed as the regional coordinator for the combined Guntur and Kurnool districts last month, there is hardly any activity he has taken up so far.

His father addressed a couple of press conferences and issued statements when there was a controversy over burning of files in the Madanapalli sub-collector’s office. Subsequently, he was not seen or heard in the party activities.

Even when there has been a large scale arrests of social media activists of the YSRCP, every senior leader of the party came out before the media and condemned these arrests and the harassment by the Naidu government. But no such statement has come from Peddireddy or his son. Readmore!

Inquiries revealed that Mithun Reddy is focussing on strengthening his business activities, which he had expanded even in countries like South Africa.

Though he continues to be in the party and has no plans to join the BJP or any other party, he is learnt to have told his well-wishers that he would like to concentrate on his business empire, rather than wasting his time on politics.

When the YSRCP was in power, Peddireddy and Mithun Reddy were calling shots in the party. While Mithun Reddy played a big role in managing the bosses in Delhi, his father had controlled the politics in entire Chittoor district.

Now that the party is facing a bad time, the father-son duo seem to have decided to play safe and focus on business activities, instead of politics, in view of the given political scenario in the state, sources said.
