Jana Sena Party chief and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan’s stinging comments at a rally in Pithapuram on Monday against his cabinet colleague home minister Vangalapudi Anitha over the failure of law and order in the state continued to create ripples in the state.
While Director General of Police Dwaraka Tirumala Rao gave a polite retort to Pawan Kalyan for his comments on the failure of the police, there are reports that the deputy chief minister got a call from the Delhi bosses, asking him to come to the national capital on Wednesday.
According to these reports, Pawan Kalyan got a call from Union home minister Amit Shah on Tuesday night, asking the former to come to New Delhi on Wednesday for a talk, which raised many an eyebrow.
In fact, Pawan Kalyan is supposed to attend the cabinet meeting to be chaired by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday. It is not immediately known whether he will fly to New Delhi after the cabinet meeting or skip the cabinet meeting to go to the national capital.
If Amit Shah wanted to know what prompted the deputy CM to make such strong comments, he would have called up over phone and found out what had happened. But the news that he had called for a one-on-one meeting has given rise to speculations.
There has been a talk that the BJP is planning to use Pawan Kalyan to consolidate its presence in Andhra Pradesh and hence, the bonhomie between Pawan Kalyan and Naidu might not last long, at least it will continue till the next elections.
“Maybe, that is the reason why Pawan Kalyan is aggressively promoting Hindutva and talking about Sanatana Dharma; apparently to embarrass Naidu, who cannot afford to lose the support of the minorities,” an analyst said.
Maybe, Amit Shah has called for a meeting with Pawan to discuss further strategies in this regard. In the coming days, one might not be surprised to see further fireworks from Pawan Kalyan.
