Whenever a popular political leader declares his assets as part of the election affidavit to be submitted to the Election Commission while filing the nomination papers for contesting elections, the media goes through the affidavits to find out how rich the candidate is.
So, Jana Sena Party founder and power star Pawan Kalyan, too, declared his assets and liabilities while filing his nomination for the Pithapuram assembly constituency in East Godavari district in the next month’s elections in Andhra Pradesh.
According to the affidavit, Pawan and his family members have assets, both movable and immovable, worth Rs 164.53 crore and he declared that his income for the last four years stood at nearly Rs 60 crore.
The movable assets, including cars, bank deposits and cash balance, are worth Rs 41.65 crore of Pawan, Rs 1 crore of his wife Anna Lezhneva, Rs 89.17 lakh of daughter Konidela Polina Andzhani and Rs 86.25 lakh of Konidela Mark Shankar.
He also showed bank deposits in the name of his two other children born to his first wife Renu Desai, but he did not give them the surname – Konidela, but named them as Akira Desai and Aadya Desai. While Akira has bank deposits of Rs 89.38 lakh, Adya has Rs 87.77 lakh.
With regard to immovable properties, Pawan has properties worth Rs 94.41 lakh, while Anna has a bungalow (Flat no 201, Valley View Condominium, MLA Colony, Banjara hills, Hyderabad) worth Rs 1.95 crore. Her children have a share in the property, worth Rs 11 lakh each.
However, there are reports that Pawan Kalyan has not declared his overseas assets in the election affidavit.
“He has properties in Singapore and the USA. In fact, he has bought a mall for Anna in Singapore, but it was not shown in the affidavit,” a report said.
Greatandhra.com, however, cannot vouch for the authenticity of these reports.
