“Actually the main attraction for Patel SIR is its vibrating title and my look in the film. Both of them really worked for promotions and it’s a huge thing.
For the first time, I received messages from Pakistan for Patel SIR get up and I replied personally them through social media which is a rarity,” Jagapathi Babu feels Patel is a film went deep into common audience both in Telugu states and abroad.
“Making Jagapathi Babu, a successful supporting artist to come back and accept protagonist role makes my producer Sai Korrapati and his Vaaraahi Productions the real heroes behind Patel SIR.
Once I liked the story and screenplay narrated by Vasu Parimi, I agreed to do it. Later Rajamouli tweeted twice about the film which made me more confident. Sai Korrapati is doing wonderful publicity and openings are sure to be rocking,” Jagapathi Babu aims to take this film bigger.
Reacting on stunts needed for this character, “no, stunts have been designed very naturally as per characterization. Emotion behind these stunts will connect well with audience. Unlike the confusions on action, thriller, murder mystery or revenge genres to which Patel belongs to, I feel Patel is a pure family drama with thrills throughout. This is a magical characterization and I am really impressed. I consider myself very lucky and my time is running very good because budget, story and rest all worked. As far this film is considered, designing my look was the biggest challenge.”
Answering to a question on continuation as hero or villain or character artist, “I do not want to restrict myself to one genre. I can be a brother, father or hero and can also be Patel SIR. I welcome new and good genres. I would like to do all kinds of films. Sometimes I go blind by director and sometimes go by script,” Jagapathi Babu said before singing off.
