Open Letter: Sreekanth Addala! This Is Not Right

Sreekanth Addala! You are the director who made films showcasing the relations, affections and friendship in the coastal Andhra backdrop.

Your films Kotha Bangaru Lokam, Seetamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu, Mukunda and Brahmotsavam fall under this list.

But to show vengeance, blood shed, murders and caste fanaticism you have chosen our Rayalaseema. This Is not fair on your part to show our place as an uncivilized one.

You might have done the same with your coastal Andhra backdrop as Tsundur-Karemchedu incidents are from that place. Above that the tonsuring of dalits took place in your Godavari districts. Moreover, Narappa is a dubbed film from Tamil. You have creative freedom to place the story in any backdrop. Readmore!

If you have made any biopic from our place we wouldn't have questioned like this. But what made you malign our place?

People or the media consider what is shown in the film to be true subconsciously. You are unnecessarily sowing such seeds in the hearts of many Telugus.

The faction episodes that took place in Rayalaseema are among some power mongering groups but not by castes. Caste feuds and ill treatment of backward classes is more in coastal Andhra when compared to Rayalaseema.

I don't say that you should project only good things about our place. My question is why did you choose Rayalaseema backdrop only to show bad when you have chosen coastal Andhra region to showcase only the goodness in human beings!

A Telugu from Rayalaseema
