Of TDP leaders and jails with attached toilets!

Ever since the YSR Congress party came to power in the state in 2019, Telugu Desam Party leaders have been alleging that the Jagan government has been harassing them, foisting false cases on them and sending them to jails on one pretext or the other.

It appears the TDP leaders are mentally prepared for facing such cases and go to jail at least for a few days till they get the bail.

The only worry they have is whether there would be adequate facilities in the jail and whether they would be able to get adjusted to the conditions.

Now, they have overcome even such apprehension after listening to the experiences of their party colleagues who have been in jail for some time, like TDP state president K Atchannaidu, former minister Kollu Ravindra and MLC B Tech Ravi. Readmore!

At a meeting held by Naidu recently to discuss the strategy for Tirupati Lok Sabha by-poll, the TDP leaders discussed the issue of the YSRC government indulging in witch-hunting of the rivals and sending them to jails. This led to the talk about the facilities available in the jail.

Former minister Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy said there was nothing to worry about jails.

“I spoke to B Tech Ravi, who had been in jail for a few days and asked him whether there was any attached toilet in the jail barrack. He told me there is one attached bathroom. So, no problem in going to jail for a few days,” Somireddy said.

He said he was ready to step up the fight against the government and even if he was sent to jail, he had no issues as long as there was an attached bathroom. His comments led to laughter in the meeting.

One TDP leader raised a doubt.

“Sir, since B Tech Ravi is an MLC, he might have got a barrack with attached bath. What about former MLAs and ministers? They might not get the facility,” he said.

This made Somireddy panicky. He immediately enquired with Kollu Ravindra, a former minister, who too was in jail for some time. And Ravindra said he too was provided with a cell with attached bathroom.

“So, no problem. We can all go to jail without any issues,” Somireddy said.
