In Bollywood, stars like Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, and others have also been granted similar rights by various courts.
Now, Jr NTR has approached the Delhi High Court seeking protection of his personality rights.
In his petition, he stated that some social media handles have been indulging in mudslinging and damaging his reputation with malicious intent.
His lawyer, J. Sai Deepak, argued that social media platforms have become enablers in harming the reputation of celebrities like NTR.
He sought orders directing the platforms to remove defamatory content and protect the actor’s personality rights.
The court has directed social media platforms to respond within three days and posted the next hearing for December 22nd.
Following the debacle of “War 2,” NTR has also faced a large amount of trolling online.
