Now, Encounter Victims' Kin Oppose Film On Disha!

Even as the Telangana high court has been hearing a petition filed by the family members of the veterinary doctor who was allegedly raped and killed at Shamshabad in November last, the family members of the accused in the rape case, too, moved the court seeking to stall the release of the movie.

The film is being made by controversial film maker Ram Gopal Varma under the title “Disha,” a pseudonym given to the rape and murder victim.

The family members have moved the court stating that Varma had no right to cash in on the tragedy that had happened in the family and that would cause further mental agony to them.

On Monday, the family members of the four accused – Jollu Shiva, Jollu Naveen, Chenna Kesavulu and Mohd Arif – also moved the high court requesting that the release of the film be stalled forthwith. They made a petition before the judicial commission appointed by the Supreme Court in this regard. Readmore!

All the four accused were killed in an alleged encounter with the police at Chattanpalli on the outskirts of Shadnagar town within a week of they allegedly committed rape and murder of Disha.

Their family members said the film “Disha” sought to project their children as villains and that would affect their freedom of life.

“It will have a serious affect on the life of the other children of the family. You cannot kill the people again as they were already killed in encounter,” the family members said in their petition.

They argued that how Ram Gopal Varma could make a picture on the issue which was still being investigated into by a commission appointed by the Supreme Court. They appealed to the judicial commission to stop release of the film.
