The nomination period for the general elections in Andhra Pradesh concluded on Thursday.
A total of 731 candidates submitted their paperwork for the 25 Lok Sabha seats, while 4,210 contenders have thrown their hats in the ring for the 175 Assembly seats.
The bulk of the nominations were filed during the past few weekdays, with a flurry of last-minute submissions before the 3 pm deadline on Thursday.
Chief Minister and YSRC president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy filed his nominations on the final day, following a public meeting in Pulivendula.
The scrutiny of the nominations is scheduled for Friday, and candidates will have until April 29 to withdraw their nominations.
The final list of candidates will be announced following the scrutiny process.
The general elections are being conducted in seven phases across the country, with both the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections in Andhra Pradesh slated for the fourth phase on May 13.
The seventh and final phase of polling is set for June 1, with the nationwide counting of votes to follow on June 4.
The nomination process began on April 18, and over the past week, the state has been a hive of activity with candidates filing nominations, attending rallies, and submitting affidavits.
Campaign activities are expected to ramp up following the completion of the nomination process.
The Telugu Desam, Jana Sena, and BJP alliance is challenging the incumbent YSRC.
In the Pulivendula Assembly constituency, where Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy is contesting, 45 nominations were filed.
In the Kuppam Assembly constituency, where TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu is a candidate, 32 nominations were submitted.
For the Pithapuram Assembly seat, where Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is contesting, 30 nominations were filed, while in Mangalagiri, where TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh is entering the fray, 71 nominations were submitted.
