No politics please, striking AP employees tell TDP

Telugu Desam Party headed by former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu might have thought it would gain some political mileage by extending support to the ongoing agitation by the state government employees against the recent pay revision.

Ever since the chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy announced the pay revision commission (PRC) decisions, the TDP leaders have been issuing statements accusing the government of cheating the employees.

When the employees decided to step up their agitation after the issuance of GOs on PRC last Monday, the TDP leaders have started extending support to them.

The TDP social media wing has been posting messages how the previous Chandrababu Naidu extended them benefits, while the Jagan government was ignoring them. Readmore!

As a result, the Jagan government has become more and more stubborn. The state ministers like Perni Nani, Botsa Satyanarayana and others have launched a counter attack, warning the employees against falling into Naidu’s trap.

The government suspects that the TDP was behind the recent agitation by the teachers in front of all the collectors’ offices in the state, wherein some protests made abusive comments against the chief minister.

As a result, the employees’ associations have landed in trouble. They are forced to issue a statement saying they have nothing do with the TDP statements or its social media campaign.

“We have not sought any support from any political party. And we don’t want the involvement of the TDP or any other party. The pay revision issue is purely between the state government and the employees,” the JAC leaders said.

It also made it clear that if any political party made any statement in support of the employees, it was only for their own political mileage and not connected to the employees.

“The TDP also should understand that our fight has no political overtones. It is better the party keeps away from the issue,” the JAC leaders asserted.
