Firebrand YSR Congress party leader and Andhra Pradesh sports and culture minister R K Roja appears to have reconciled to the fact that she might not get the party ticket from Nagari constituency in the upcoming assembly elections.
“I don’t have choice. I shall abide by whatever party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy decides on my seat. I will work as per the directions of the party president,” Roja said, speaking to reporters.
She said she was hoping that Jagan would give her the party ticket again from Nagari, but if it did not happen, she would not feel bad.
“Even if somebody else gets the ticket, I shall work for the party like a disciplined soldier. I want to see Jagan returning to power as the chief minister for a second successive term,” she said.
Roja said she had the dream of entering the state assembly as an MLA at least once and do service to the people. But Jagan had given her the opportunity twice and even made her a cabinet minister.
“I don’t think Jagan will deny me the party ticket. Even if he does, I am ready to do any sacrifice,” she said.
The firebrand leader gave a reasoning for her philosophical approach.
“I have no choice but to stay back in the party even if I don’t get ticket. I cannot revolt against Jagan and leave the party like others. Because, I cannot join any other party as I will draw blank wherever I go,” she said.
She said Jagan will not forget those who remained loyal to him and he would take care of their interests.
“He knows how to acknowledge the services of loyalist. So, I shall have to stay back in the party,” she explained.
