Nimmagadda Is Going With Satisfaction

State Election Commissioner Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar, who is retiring at the end of the day today, said that he is retiring with full satisfaction.

He said he had received full support and cooperation from the state government to conduct the panchayat and municipal elections.

He thanked the DGP and Chief Secretary for their support and cooperation in the successful conduct of the elections.

However, he said he had prepared a report on the State Election Commission and its responsibilities, which was sent to the Governor and would give a copy to his successor Nilam Sahwney, for better functioning. Readmore!

He said he had filed some cases in the high court and supreme court only to protect the institution (SEC) and not against any individual. 

Some cases were disposed and some were in pending at various stages, he said.

He also said that he had worked in the constitutional body as per the rules and never deviated from the set rules.

“I have not even made public any of my letters or communication as SEC,” he said. 

He expressed confidence that the SEC would protect the democratic values for which it was created.

At the end of the press conference, Nimmagadda Ramesh Kumar said that he would not do the mistake of joining any political party after his retirement.
