The much-awaited film "Spy," starring Tollywood actor Nikhil Siddhartha, has been released in theaters today.
Directed by Garry By, the film features Iswarya Menon, Aryan Rajesh, and Rana Daggubati alongside Nikhil. The makers have extensively promoted the film across India.
"Spy" is an action drama that garnered attention with initial reports suggesting it is based on the life of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. However, Nikhil, the lead actor, clarified that it is simply a patriotic movie that every Indian should watch.
The film's US premieres were held last night, and the box office numbers have been revealed.
According to the official figures released by the makers, "Spy" collected a staggering $154,764 from the US premieres, making it the highest-grossing movie in Nikhil's career in the US.
This success can be attributed, in part, to his popularity from the film "Karthikeya 2," which helped attract audiences to theaters.
It will be interesting to see how the movie is received by the Indian audience.
