Why is Kanna targeting Jagan on Polavaram?

Bharatiya Janata Party Andhra Pradesh unit president Kanna Lakshminarayana somehow seems to have developed grouse towards YSR Congress party president and chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

One can understand if Kanna is making political criticism but of late, he has started indulging in personal attack on Jagan.

It is evident from the way he made comments against the chief minister during his visit to Polavaram project on Friday.

Kanna alleged that Jagan was indulging in nepotism on the pretext of unearthing corruption in Polavaram project.

“It has been more than four months since Jagan has come to power. So far, he has not been able to prove any single instance of corruption in the Polavaram project. But in the name of corruption, he is getting his works done,” he criticised.

He said if Jagan really saved money through reverse tendering in Polavaram project, he would definitely appreciate it.

“But it would have been better, had he gone in for reverse tendering after proving his allegations of corruption in the project,” he said.

Kanna alleged that Jagan had wasted a lot of time in taking up Polavaram project.

“The loss due to delay is much more than the money saved through reverse tendering,” he said.

One wonders what message the BJP leader is sending to the people. Apparently, his comments only convey the message that there was no corruption during the TDP regime and that YSRC was only trying to malign the previous government.

If that is true, what would Kanna say to the remarks of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s comment during the elections that Naidu had treated Polavaram as an ATM and looted public money?

When a contractor has come forward to do the project for Rs 800 crore less, does it not mean the TDP government had overestimated the project cost and gave the tenders to Navayuga at excess rates? Is it not corruption?
