Social media makes mess of Chiru-Jagan meet!

Social media is a powerful tool of information, no doubt, but at the same time, it has become a forum for fake news, creating a lot of embarrassment to the people, particularly political leaders.

Activists of political parties have been misusing the social media to hurl abuses at one another and also spread fake news to run down their rivals. Sometimes, such fake news creates a lot of troubles for the leaders.

Take the case of YSR Congress party MLA from Chandragiri Chevireddy Bhaskar Reddy. On Friday, a fake message started doing rounds in the social media, attributing it to Chevireddy.

The message from a duplicate twitter handle of Chevireddy had adverse comments on megastar Chiranjeevi and his son Ram Charan.

The post read like this: “It is a case of ships turning bullock carts and vice versa. When Chiranjeevi was the Union minister, Jagan was arrested. Ram Charan was jubilant over the arrest and commented that law had taken its own course. That was the hatred the mega family had towards YSR family. Now, the same father-son duo had been trying for Jagan’s darshan and got the appointment after a lot of waiting. They are asking Jagan to watch Chiranjeevi’s film Sye Raa. What a magic of the time?  That is Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.”

This “fake post” naturally irritated the mega fans who countered aggressively in their social media accounts.

They reminded Chevireddy how Chiranjeevi behaved in a humble and gracious manner when he was in politics even after his rivals attacked him with their abusive and unsavoury comments against Chiru and his family members.

They reminded YSRCP supporters how Chiranjeevi extended his friendly hand to actors Rajasekhar, Jeevitha, Mohanbabu, Roja etc, who attacked him and his family members with wild and baseless allegations on his blood bank and film career.

However, Chevireddy denied the news. He made it clear that it was a fake post in the social media and that he had never made any such comments on Chiranjeevi or Ram Charan.

Obviously, it was the handiwork of Chevireddy’s political detractors!
