Finally, Thota Trimurthulu quits TDP

As expected, former MLA from Ramachandrapuram constituency in East Godavari district Thota Trimurthulu resigned from the party. He is most likely to take a plunge ito the YSR Congress party shortly.

Trimurthulu, who has been keeping away from the party activities for quite some time, made an announcement to this effect after holding a meeting of his followers at his residence at Venkatayapalem village near Draksharamam on Friday.

A powerful Kapu leader from East Godavari district, Trimurthulu, a three-time MLA, had been sulking even during the TDP regime for being denied the cabinet berth. He, however, remained loyal to the TDP for a quite long time.

The former MLA lashed out at TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu for saying that he was quitting the party after getting all the benefits in the party.

“Let him cite one example of me going to him for any favour. I will hang myself to death,” he said.

He questioned Chandrababu Naidu as to whether Rajya Sabha members like Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh, T G Venkatesh and others had joined in BJP without his knowledge.

He said that he had changed parties only due to development of the constituency, but not for his individual interests.
