Why Is Naidu So Angry With Voters?

Even after facing the humiliating defeat in the hands of the YSR Congress party in the recent assembly elections, Telugu Desam Party president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu doesn’t seem to have realised why the people had rejected him.

It was evident from the anguish Naidu had expressed at the party workers’ meeting held at the TDP headquarters in Guntur on Wednesday.

“Nobody is able to tell why the TDP lost the assembly elections. I don’t understand even now what mistake I had committed that made people to give us only 23 seats in the assembly elections. I have never seen such a verdict in my 40 years of political life,” he regretted.

The TDP president found fault with the people for defeating his party and choosing the YSRC headed by Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“They enjoyed the fruits of Pattiseema project launched by me and reaped rich crops. But in the elections, they voted for the YSRC. In a way, they dumped the milch cow that gives them good quantity of milk and got a he-buffalo (Dunnapothu),” Naidu said, giving vent to his anger at the voters.

He alleged that the Jagan government was working with the sole objective of targeting him personally and in the process, it was going against the public interest.

“Just out of political vendetta against me, he has killed Amaravati, which I dreamt of constructing as a world-class capital city. The international airlines have stopped coming to Vijayawada,” he said.

Naidu said Jagan had made a lot of complaints against him during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday.

“But you cannot prove anything, as nothing has happened illegally in my regime. It is ironic that Jagan had gone to the Prime Minister not to ask funds for the state, but only to complain against me,” he alleged.
