Kapu Leaders To Quit TDP For Good?

Telugu Desam Party headed by former Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, which received a humiliating defeat in the hands of the YSR Congress party in the recent assembly elections, appears to be crumbling fast.

According to reports coming from the party sources, several prominent TDP leaders representing Kapu community held a secret meeting at Kakinada under the auspices of former MLA Thota Trimurthulu to discuss their future of action, as they felt there is no future in the TDP.

Sources said those who attended include: Jyothula Nehru, Buragadda Veda Vyas Badeti Bujji, Varupula Raja, Meesala Geetha, K P Naidu, Panchakarla Ramesh Babu, Eli Naani and Bonda Uma etc.

The meeting was held completely indoors and media was banned from entry into the area.

Majority of the leaders who attended the meeting are learnt to have felt that there was no future for the TDP and it would be better to join the Bharatiya Janata Party to emerge as a potential alternative.

However, some of them like Bonda Uma differed with the others and said it would be better to fight it out by staying back in the TDP.

In any case, the meeting indicated the impending revolt in the TDP following its debacle in the recent elections!
