Puri's Poor Track Record Haunts iSmart Shankar

Puri Jagannadh has pinned high hopes on iSmart Shankar to revive his career.

Even the buzz on the film from insiders is highly positive. But that is not ensuring good business deals for iSmart Shankar.

The makers are quoting Rs. 15 crore for India theatrical rights, but the buyers are willing to pay just Rs. 12 crore, which is too low for the combination of Ram and Puri.

Buyers are not ready to risk after seeing how Puri's recent films performed.

Also Ram has been inconsistent at the box office. There are many misses than hits for him. Perhaps an attractive teaser could push the business forward. iSmart team is currently working on it.

The film is likely to be released in late July or early August.
