Jagan To Roll Out Money To AgriGold Victims

Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute money to the AgriGold depositors at Guntur on November 7.

The state government had already released Rs 264.99 crore to be paid to 3.69 lakh depositors who have deposited Rs 10,000 or less.

The cabinet had cleared the proposal to pay to the depositors on behalf of the AgriGold.

The chief minister would press a button at Guntur to pay money directly into the bank accounts of the 3.99 lakh depositors on the day.

This is the third event in which Jagan Mohan Reddy will be paying money directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries in the last five months of his government.

The first payment was to the YSR Vahana Mitra beneficiaries, who own auto or cab. The beneficiaries were paid Rs 10,000 each directly into the bank account.

The second payment was made to the farmers under the YSR Rythu Bharosa, in which the first instalment of Rs 4000 was paid directly into the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The Rythu Bharosa is to pay Rs 13500 to each of the farmers, including the tenant farmers, towards crop investment in Kariff and Rabi season, besides Pongal celebrations.

Now, with the payment to the AgriGold depositors, Jagan Mohan Reddy is ahead of his predecessor, Chandrababu Naidu in fulfilling the promises.

The AgriGold issue was first reported during Chandrababu Naidu’s regime, but the government could not do anything for the depositors in five years.

Thus Jagan Mohan Reddy, despite presiding over the empty coffers, is making the payment to the beneficiaries.
