Man uses AP CM Jagan's name on car, held

Hyderabad: A man who was using Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan’s name on his car’s registration number plate (AP10 BD 7299) to avoid being penalised, was caught by Jeedimetla traffic police.

They booked a cheating case against the motorist, seized the vehicle and the driver was produced before a court for remand.

According to Cyberabad traffic police, a motorist moving in a car on the Shapurnagar pipeline road was intercepted by the Jeedimetla traffic police, when they saw the registration number plates on both front and rear had ‘AP CM Jagan’ written on it.

The driver was identified as Muppidi Hari Rakesh, 27, a B. Tech graduate. A native of Pithapuram, living in Kukatpally, the car belonged to his uncle Yesy Reddy.

“On inquiry, it was found that Rakesh was using Jagan’s name to avoid being penalised and police searches,” said the police.

A case has been registered against him under Sections 420 and 210 of the Indian Penal Code.
