Jagan to give a strong reply to Centre on reverse tendering

Chief Minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy is all set to give a strong and fitting reply to the Central government, particularly the two Union Ministers – Minister for Energy and Minister for Jalsakthi.

The two Central ministers have been very vocal in criticising Jaganmohan Reddy government on reverse tendering in Polavaram Project and review of the Power Purchase Agreements.

It is believed that the two ministers are under the influence of the TDP leaders and the contractors, who belong to same social status.

The State government had saved Rs 800 crore in the reverse tendering process in the two packages of the Polavarma Project.

The chief minister, who is in Delhi today and tomorrow, is likely to give a detailed report on the reverse tendering and its benefit to the Jalsakthi Minister and silence him.

The Water Resources Ministry in AP had prepared a detailed note on the Polavaram Project and reverse tendering.

The report would be first presented to the Polavaram Project Authority at its meeting in Hyderabad today. Later, the report would be submitted to the Jalsakthi Minister on Tuesday.

On the proposed review of the Power Purchase Agreements, the State government had also prepared a detailed note and the chief minister is likely to submit it to the Union Energy Minister.

Sources in the Chief Minister’s Office indicate that the two reports are with the chief minister and he would first give them to Home Minister Amit Shah, with a request to silence the two Union Ministers.

If everything goes well, the chief minister is likely to request the Home Minister to seal the mouths of the two ministers, who are speaking against the state government under the influence of the TDP.

The chief minister is also likely to request Shah to keep ex-TDP leader Y S Chowdary, in place, as he is lending his voice for the TDP in AP.

It is like one shot and many birds for Jaganmohan Reddy in this two-day visit to the national capital.
