TDP's Stoop Down In AP Politics

The TDP is struggling hard to find its roots alive in AP after its humiliating defeat in the 2019 general elections.

The TDP which had won 102 Assembly seats in 2014 general elections is now reduced to just 23 seats, despite its claims of double digit growth and building Amaravati as global destination to make it one of the top five cities of the world.

The greater humiliation came from its defeat in the two Assembly constituencies of Thadikonda and Mangalagiri, which form part of this global destination dream city of Amaravati. The defeat here clearly shows that people are not ready to buy TDP’s lies any more.

Now, having lost the 2019 poll battle and further wounded with leaders defecting, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu is finding things going tough for him.

His dreams of seeing his worthy son as his successor sitting comfortably in the chief minister’s chair appear too far and unrealistic.

Naidu is also fighting against his aging problem to be active and keep his flocks together.

While as a politician, he is justified to do so to keep his party relevant, the statements he and his folks make, are becoming laughing stock among the people.

The TDP chief and his leaders have found fault with the State government in implementing the YSR Rythu Bharosa scheme on giving monetary benefit in instalments and including Modi’s Rs 6000 in the package.

When it comes to farmers, Chandrababu Naidu is having a short period of his own regime for the people to compare.

There is immediate comparison drawn from his total loan waiver promise to the farmers from the Rythu Bharosa of the YSR Congress government.

Naidu, who promised total loan waiver had brought it down to Rs 1.50 lakh for farmer and even that too was proposed to be paid in five instalments.

The greatest failure on his account is that he could not pay the last two instalments of this promise and thus people are laughing at him for his criticism.

Naidu, in the last five years, was never democratic in allowing the opposition parties.

He did not even consult the opposition parties on core issues like the capital location, giving up Special Category Status demand for the State and shifting the capital from Hyderabad to Vijayawada.

Being so undemocratic for five years, Naidu is now speaking about democracy, giving people a chance to draw comparison and laugh for the stoop down.
