Allu Cinemas was built in Kokapet with high expectations and significant hype surrounding the theatre complex at the time of its launch. With Allu Arjun’s brand associated with it, expectations were indeed at their peak, and many believed it would pose strong competition to other theatres in the region.
However, soon after the theatre was launched, the hype around it began to fade. Many who watched films there reported that there was no noticeable difference in the viewing experience. While it might offer some technical advantages appreciated by industry professionals, regular audiences did not find anything particularly special.
Additionally, other factors have been affecting its reputation. Some visitors have complained that the toilets are not being maintained to the expected standards, especially considering the brand value. The seats are reportedly getting dirty and unpleasant odors in the halls are not being properly addressed. Given the expectations of a premium, almost five-star experience, these shortcomings are disappointing.
At present, there are no major multiplex chains like PVR, INOX, or Cinepolis operating in this region, though they are in the process of setting up. Analysts suggest that once these multiplex chains arrive, the prominence of Allu Cinemas could decline further if it does not maintain higher standards.
Moreover, even AAA Cinemas, despite its association with Allu Arjun’s brand, is not widely considered top-notch due to its location and design.
Overall, while it is commendable that Allu Arjun has ventured into the theatre business, many feel that the quality and standards are not yet aligned with the expectations set by his brand. That remains the primary concern voiced by audiences.
