Bad Boy Karthik was made on a budget of around Rs 30 crore, and the film received flak right from trailer itself.
The film was produced under the Sri Vaishnavi banner and featured Naga Shaurya and Vidhi Yadav in the lead roles, with Ramesh Desena handling both writing and direction.
The makers seemed confident that the film would find traction either in theatres or through a digital deal.
However, there was no OTT deal secured, which significantly affected its chances of recovering costs. Adding to that, in theatres, the response was extremely poor, with very low audience turnout reported.
As a result, the entire Rs 30 crore investment effectively went down the drain. The film quickly disappeared from public attention, marking a complete washout.
It stands as an example of how a project can collapse without proper content support and audience engagement.
