AI Axe, Empty Pockets, Tragic End For Telugu Techie Couple

Two days after a young techie couple died by suicide in Bengaluru, more details have emerged pointing to job loss, financial stress, and personal struggles as possible reasons behind the tragedy.

Banu Chandra Reddy, 32, a software engineer from Telangana, was found hanging in his apartment on Monday.

Soon after discovering his body, his wife Bibi Shaziya Siraj, a tech professional who worked at IBM, allegedly jumped from the 17th floor of their apartment building.

According to the investigation so far, Reddy had been facing serious career and financial difficulties for nearly a year. Readmore!

After reportedly losing his job in the United States, he was said to have struggled to find stable employment in Bengaluru.

Sources indicate that his layoff may have been linked to changing hiring trends in the tech industry, including the growing shift towards AI-related roles, which reportedly left him without a regular source of income.

The prolonged unemployment is believed to have caused increasing financial pressure and emotional distress.

Sources also said the couple had been dealing with limited family support, which may have worsened their situation. Their interfaith marriage reportedly did not receive acceptance from Reddy’s family.

It is learnt that his father, said to have strong political connections in Telangana, was not in favour of the relationship, leading to strained ties.

With little emotional or financial backing from their families, the couple was reportedly dealing with multiple personal and financial challenges on their own in Bengaluru.

Police are said to have recovered a suicide note, in which Reddy reportedly mentioned some of these issues and took responsibility for his actions, while also asking that his wife should not be blamed.

Shaziya, who had returned to Bengaluru shortly before the incident, is said to have taken the extreme step after seeing her husband’s body.

Police are continuing their investigation into the case.
