Many wondered why the Telugu version shows of "Dhurandhar: The Revenge" were cancelled on premiere day and the subsequent day; and why they were not screened until the third day of its release.
When we asked some exhibitors, they said they received the screening keys yesterday itself and were ready to screen the film. However, they claimed that higher authorities prevented them from screening it without giving any convincing reasons.
“We were given permission to screen it only from today,” they said.
With all this, a conspiracy theory is now circulating that this delay tactic was used to help "Ustaad Bhagat Singh" that released on the same day in Telugu.
Though there is no official confirmation, the unusual delay has raised several questions among fans and trade circles.
But as the saying goes, one cannot stop the rising sun with a hand. The success and thumping collections of 'Dhurandhar: The Revenge' could not be stopped, and the film is now enjoying a marathon run with houseful shows everywhere. Well, the delaying tactic didn't help the other film either.
Those who missed the Telugu version of "Dhurandhar-The Revenge" initially watched the Hindi version first, and some of them have now booked tickets again to watch the Telugu version for a second time with better clarity.
So delaying tactic indeed doubled the impact of ticket sales, shares an exhibitor as his opinion.
