First Report: Dhurandhar 2 Goes Brutal & Bigger!

The premiere screening of Aditya Dhar directorial and Ranveer Singh starring Dhurandhar 2-The Revenge is over, and the film leaves a strong impression.

The 3-hour-49-minute runtime may sound exhausting to know, but the film largely feels like an immersive journey into the shadowy world of Pakistan’s spy operations.

Ranveer Singh delivers a commanding performance and excels in his portrayal throughout the film. His screen presence and intensity anchor the narrative, especially in the high-stakes sequences that dominate the storyline.

The film is packed with several surprise elements. A substantial episode involving Dawood Ibrahim stands out and remains engaging, though at times it leans toward cinematic dramatization.  Readmore!

The appearance of lookalikes portraying Nawaz Sharif and the infamous Uttar Pradesh gangster Atiq Ahmad also grabs attention and adds to the film’s political and crime-driven narrative.

Real-life footage of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been used in the film without alteration. The theatre erupted with applause during the scene depicting his swearing-in ceremony in 2014.

Similarly, the sequence referencing the currency demonetization announcement also drew loud reactions from the audience.

Director Aditya Dhar’s wife, actress Yami Gautam, appears in a brief cameo that received an enthusiastic response from viewers.

Meanwhile, Sanjay Dutt’s dialogues contain a fair amount of profanity, notably with no censor cuts for certain explicit words.

Overall, despite its lengthy runtime, the film is packed with intense action, extreme violence, and a series of unpredictable twists that keep the narrative engaging.

In fact, the level of violence in Dhurandhar Part 1 appears mild when compared with what is depicted in this sequel.

The absence of Akshaye Khanna as Rehman Dacait in this part didn't cause any drop and the film got the heaviness and engagement with several other characters and twists.

A detailed review will follow.
