UBS Promotions Fail to Match OG: What Next?

Everybody thought that “Ustaad Bhagat Singh” would gain massive hype and hoopla once Pawan Kalyan came for promotions and the pre-release event happened on a grand scale like that of “OG.”

Finally, the event happened and Pawan Kalyan did attend. But the point is that he didn’t appear in a customized film-promotion mood like he was during the OG promotions.

For the 'They Call Him OG' pre release event, Pawan Kalyan appeared in the movie’s get-up, creating a strong cinematic aura.

The event was held at LB Stadium, where thousands of fans waited even in the rain. Pawan Kalyan even sang a song from the dais. Readmore!

On top of that, Thaman and Shivamani were present on stage, adding tremendous energy to the event. All of that collectively amplified the hype for the film.

However, for the Ustaad Bhagat Singh promotions, Pawan Kalyan appeared in his Deputy CM look rather than in the film’s character get-up. His bearded look, without the usual filmy glam, somewhat diluted the promotional impact.

The music directors Devi Sri Prasad and Thaman were both absent, making the stage mostly about speeches, praise, and thank-you notes rather than powerful entertainment.

The event was also held at Police Grounds with a comparatively compact crowd, unlike the massive turnout seen during the OG promotions.

On the whole, fans tend to expect something bigger once they have already witnessed something grand. In that sense, the UBS promotions disappointed to an extent, as they didn’t create the same level of hype or spectacle.

However, the trailer of UBS looks good and quite captivating as a commercial entertainer. The big question now is whether that alone will be enough to deliver huge openings.

Adding to the challenge, ticket prices in Nizam have not been increased, which makes it harder to inflate opening numbers. Naturally, comparisons with OG will come into play.

It remains to be seen how the film sustains against these odds and especially with the big hurdle of “Dhurandhar 2,” which is also releasing on March 19.

Ustaad Bhagat Singh is hitting screens on March 19, with Harish Shankar directing and Mythri Movie Makers producing the film. Raashii Khanna and Sreeleela play the female leads alongside Pawan Kalyan.
