After Blockbuster, Actor Faced Painful Surgery

Ahaan Panday, who shot to fame with his blockbuster debut Saiyaara, has revealed that he quietly underwent a painful and major surgery soon after the film’s release—at a time when he was riding high on success.

While Saiyaara, co-starring Aneet Padda and directed by Mohit Suri, shattered box-office records, Ahaan was battling a serious physical setback behind the scenes.

In an interview with Esquire India, the actor revealed that he underwent what he described as one of the most painful surgeries, involving a long and demanding recovery period.

“I actually got a whole surgery done after the release of Saiyaara last year. It’s one of the most painful surgeries you can undergo, with the longest recovery time,” Ahaan said. Readmore!

The surgery stemmed from an old snowmobile accident that had caused a shoulder subluxation, severely affecting his mobility and gym training.

Determined to fix the issue before signing his next action film, Ahaan went ahead with the procedure despite doctors warning him that his body would “go back to zero,” making it nearly impossible to achieve the required physique.

Months of recovery followed, including a prolonged period in a cast—something that surprisingly went unnoticed.

“I don’t know how nobody realised!” Ahaan said, amused. Now fully back in action, he says the journey helped him prove everyone wrong.

“I went from being injured, to not being able to move, to not being able to lift, to finally lifting again,” he added.

Up next, Ahaan will be seen in an action entertainer directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, which also stars Sharvari.

The yet-untitled film is set to go on floors on March 30 in Mumbai, followed by a 60-day shooting schedule in the UK.

Speaking about his intense preparation, Ahaan revealed that he is currently undergoing nearly seven hours of physical training daily, including action rehearsals and strength training, as he gears up for his next big-screen transformation.
