Ustaad Bhagat Singh: Why No Overseas Buyers Yet?

Ustaad Bhagat Singh, starring Pawan Kalyan, is the film arriving after the phenomenal success of OG.

The release is scheduled for March 26, just a month from now, yet it is surprising to see that the overseas rights, crucially from the North America, are still unsold. Buyers too are not coming forward at this stage.

The recently released “Aura” song was expected to boost the film’s business, but it has not had the desired impact.

Instead, it appears to have slowed down the momentum, as many feel it lacks the strong commercial thump needed to attract the wider audience.  Readmore!

The criticism across trade circles is that the song targets only Pawan Kalyan’s fans by praising his real-life persona, which reduces the curiosity among neutral viewers. According to them, the song should have focused more on the character in the film.

At this point, everything depends on the trailer. If the trailer truly impresses, buyers are expected to step in. It needs a wide and strong reach, and it remains to be seen whether that will change the business prospects.

The film, directed by Harish Shankar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on March 26.
