Tamil director Cibi Chakravarthi, best known for Don starring Sivakarthikeyan, had earlier approached Natural Star Nani with a story idea.
Cibi even travelled to Hyderabad to narrate the concept, which Nani initially liked and asked him to develop further. The director went on to complete the full script and waited nearly a year for final approval.
However, the project did not move forward as Nani eventually decided to pass on it, citing budget constraints and other practical issues. With that, the collaboration between Nani and Cibi Chakravarthi did not materialise.
Interestingly, the same script has now opened doors to a much bigger opportunity for Cibi. Superstar Rajinikanth has given his nod to the project, turning it into a major pan-Indian film.
The film has officially been announced now. In hindsight, Nani’s rejection proved to be a turning point for the director.
On the other hand, Nani has moved on to a new collaboration and is currently working with OG director Sujeeth on his next project.
