Vamsi has gone underground fearing arrest?

YSR Congress party leader and former Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi is reportedly absconding as multiple criminal cases continue to mount against him in the recent past.

A fresh case was registered against Vamsi on December 18 at the Machavaram police station in Vijayawada, based on a complaint filed by a man named Sunil.

Since then, Vamsi has remained out of public view, including during YSRCP president Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy’s birthday celebrations, leading to speculation about his whereabouts.

Police sources say Vamsi is currently an accused in 11 cases. He was earlier arrested on February 16 this year and later released on bail after spending time in jail. Readmore!

He continues to face legal proceedings in an alleged kidnapping and intimidation case involving a TDP activist.

According to investigators, Vamsi allegedly instigated his associates to attack Sunil on June 7, 2024, resulting in the registration of an attempt-to-murder case.

Several individuals, including Yatindra Ramakrishna, Komma Koteswara Rao, and others, have been named as accused.

Police attempted to serve summons at his residence on December 23 but they proved futile.

His plea for anticipatory bail was also rejected by the state high court. Vamsi subsequently switched off his phone and is believed to have gone underground.

He also failed to appear before the SC/ST court in Vijayawada on December 29 in connection with another case, prompting police to intensify efforts to trace him and his associates.
