Gangadhara Sastry Blasts Rajamouli: 'Pallu Raalataayi'

LV Gangadhara Sastry, the well-known singer and spiritual figure revered for his Bhagavad Gita movement, commands immense respect among Hindu communities.

In a recent interview, he strongly criticised director S. S. Rajamouli over the filmmaker’s past comments describing Lord Rama as “boring” and suggesting that Lord Krishna had “many girlfriends.” The same video has been going viral.

Responding sharply, LV Gangadhara Sastry said, “People speak about Lord Rama and Lord Krishna according to their level of maturity. Before commenting, one must learn. If we die, who even remembers us? Then how is Lord Rama remembered even after millions of years if he was truly boring? Such irresponsible statements should never be made. Rajamouli should not have spoken when he clearly knows nothing about them.”

He further remarked, “Vijayendra Prasad, Rajamouli’s father, spoke about Lord Hanuman because he has actually read the scriptures.”  Readmore!

Sastry also issued a stern warning to the director. He said that if Rajamouli plans to commercially exploit the character of Lord Rama in films without genuinely believing in him, he will face consequences, adding in Telugu, “Maamoolugaa raalavu dantaalu,” meaning “your teeth won’t remain as they are,” or broadly, “you will pay the price.”

His comments have stirred fresh debate around Rajamouli’s interpretations of Hindu deities and the responsibility of influential filmmakers while speaking about religious icons.
