Akhanda 2 Bags Rs 15 Cr Deal, $2.5M US Target!

The overseas business for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s much-anticipated action entertainer Akhanda 2 is heating up!

In a major deal, the Overseas and North America distribution rights have officially been acquired by Moksha Movies and CineGalaxy, two leading distributors known for handling several big-ticket Telugu releases in the US market.

According to industry sources, the overseas rights are valued at ₹15 crore, making it one of the biggest non-theatrical deals for a Balakrishna film.

The North America breakeven target has been set at approximately $2.5 million, a figure considered achievable given the strong recall value of Akhanda (2021) — which became a cult favorite among Balayya fans and established director Boyapati Sreenu’s mass-action template worldwide. Readmore!

Trade circles are buzzing that the sequel carries tremendous hype, especially in the US market, where Balakrishna’s larger-than-life persona and Boyapati’s high-voltage mass moments enjoy a strong following.

Distributors are confident that Akhanda 2 will outperform its predecessor, given the sequel’s scale, production quality, and pan-Indian release strategy.

With Akhanda 2 currently in post-production, promotional content and release details are expected to drop soon.

If the film opens strongly in overseas markets, it could easily surpass the breakeven mark and set new benchmarks for Balakrishna’s global box office pull.

The upcoming fantasy-action-drama is scheduled to release on December 5, 2025.
