Headlined by Ram Charan and directed by Shankar, the political thriller Game Changer hit cinemas worldwide on January 10.
In this Shankar directorial, Ram Charan takes on dual roles as a father and son, sharing screen space with Kiara Advani, Anjali, Samuthirakani, S. J. Suryah, Srikanth, Sunil, and Jayaram in pivotal roles.
In its first five days, Game Changer collected â¹106.15 crore net in India and grossed â¹154.50 crore worldwide.
However, on its sixth day, early estimates from entertainment tracking portal Sacnilk indicate the film experienced its lowest day at the box office so far, earning just â¹6.50 crore.
The Ram Charan-starrer is witnessing a steady decline in collections.
Made on a staggering budget of â¹450 crore, it now appears likely that Game Changer will finish just under â¹200 crore globally, positioning it as a potential massive box-office flop.
If so, this would mark director Shankar’s second consecutive box-office failure, following Indian 2 (2024), which grossed â¹148 crore worldwide against its â¹250 crore budget.
Adding to its struggles, Game Changer is facing tough competition from Daaku Maharaj, an action thriller led by Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Sankranthiki Vasthunam, an action-comedy starring Venkatesh.
Released on January 12 and January 14 respectively, both films are reportedly drawing larger audiences to theaters than Game Changer.
Controversy has also surrounded the film’s box office numbers.
The producers of Game Changer reported an opening day worldwide gross of â¹186 crore, but trade portals, including Sacnilk, pegged the figure at â¹86 crore—a discrepancy of â¹100 crore. This inflated reporting drew criticism from trade analysts on social media.
