The sudden appearance of Renu Desai, ex-wife of Jana Sena Party president and Andhra Pradesh deputy chief minister Pawan Kalyan, at a political party event in Vijayawada on Friday raised many eyebrows.
Although Renu Desai maintains a cordial relationship with her ex-husband, she has kept herself away from his political activities. In fact, she never took part in any programme related to any political party, let alone Jana Sena Party.
However, her unexpected participation in another political party's event today has become a topic of discussion.
The party was the Bharata Chaitanya Yuvajana Party (BCYP) founded by Bode Ramachandra Yadav, which made a political entry in Andhra Pradesh before the last elections, but failed to many any impact.
Renu Desai visited Vijayawada at the invitation of BCYP leaders to take part in the Savitribai Phule birth anniversary programme. Of course, along with Renu Desai, senior Tollywood comedian Brahmanandam also took part in the event.
However, her participation doesn’t have any political significance.
Renu Desai clarified that she came to the city solely to speak about Savitribai Phule Jayanti and the importance of women teachers. But she did not explain why she accepted the invitation of a political party, which is opposed to Pawan Kalyan.
In the past, after stepping away from films, Renu Desai received an invitation to join Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party but never responded or openly spoke about politics. She only shares social media posts about her children and Pawan Kalyan.
So, her sudden participation in an event organized by another political party has sparked speculation.
