Actor Allu Arjun was briefly imprisoned in Chanchalguda Central prison following his arrest in connection with a woman’s death during a stampede at his film's premiere in Hyderabad.
The woman died, and her son was injured during the chaos at the screening of Pushpa 2: The Rule.
Arjun, along with others, was charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code based on a complaint from the woman’s family.
He spent the night in jail, where he was treated as a special class prisoner. His dinner consisted of rice and vegetable curry.
He was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court the next day and was released early Saturday morning.
Arjun’s lawyer had initially claimed delays in his release, but prison officials clarified that the release was delayed due to procedural requirements.
