Violence on the Telugu screen has been pushing boundaries for years. Dramatic bloodshed and unimaginable brutality have now become the norm.
Filmmakers often justify it, stating they are prepared to receive an 'A-certificate' if necessary, but they won’t tone it down.
It seems that Pushpa-2 falls into the same category. Compared to the first installment, the violence in Part 2 is even more extreme.
For instance, there are scenes where a leg is severed, sent flying through the air, and lands elsewhere.
In another instance, the villain's hand is cut off, and the hero makes a pointed gesture with it—these are just a few examples of the intensity.
Sources say that there is a scene in the film where Pushpa is captured and tied up by the villains.
In this sequence, he fights back like a wild animal, biting their necks, pulcking out of the flesh with teeth and killing them.
It remains to be seen how this kind of raw and intense violence will be received by family audiences and sensitive viewers.
Allu Arjun has already hinted at what to expect from Pushpa-2.
He implied that while audiences saw the "oora mass" style in Pushpa-1, they will witness the "jatara mass" style in Part 2. True to this statement, the second half of the film is said to be packed with intense violence.
Regarding the runtime, it clocks in at a whopping 200 minutes. To be precise, the movie is 3 hours, 20 minutes, and 38 seconds long. Including the interval, viewers will spend three and a half hours in theaters.
However, the makers insist that the runtime will not be trimmed, claiming that the content is too compelling to cut.
