In a significant development, popular actor and YSR Congress party leader Posani Krishna Murali declared his decision to step down from politics, amidst the ranging controversy over posting of abusive content on social media.
Speaking to the media, Posani said: "From now on, I will not talk about politics. I have no connection with any political party, not even YSRCP. I have never been a member of any party. I will neither praise nor criticize any party going forward."
Posani emphasized his intention to focus on his family and children, citing personal reasons for quitting politics.
Apparently, his decision is a fallout of legal troubles surrounding him from all sides.
There are reports that a total of 10 cases have been filed against him across Andhra Pradesh. These cases may have influenced his exit from the political sphere.
The legal challenges against Posani include allegations related to objectionable comments and posts on social media.
However, Posani clarified that he entered politics neither to criticize nor to glorify any party, stating that he had only raised questions as a common man and voter and supported those who worked for the public good.
Known for his outspoken nature, Posani has been a vocal supporter of the YSR Congress Party.
His sudden withdrawal from political discussions may impact his role in public discourse, particularly as an advocate for certain political ideologies.
