Even as the ongoing probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the murder of former Andhra Pradesh MP Y S Vivekananda Reddy is going on at a snail’s pace, his daughter Dr Narreddy Sunitha is continuing her fight to get justice in the case.
On Tuesday, Sunitha came to the Andhra Pradesh state assembly along with her husband Rajasekhar Reddy, to meet the officials of the chief minister’s office to pursue the case and find out the progress of investigation.
She also reportedly met chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and requested him to look into the case filed against her and the CBI investigating officer Ram Singh by some of the accused in Kadapa alleging that they were threatening the witnesses to depose against Kadapa MP Avinash Reddy, one of the accused in the Viveka murder case.
She had already met Kadapa superintendent of police V Vidyasagar Naidu to follow up the case filed against her. The chief minister had earlier assured of withdrawing the case filed against her.
In a related development, Supreme Court on Tuesday served notices on Avinash Reddy, in connection with the petitions filed by Sunitha, her husband and Ram Singh seeking to quash the cases filed against her and also requesting cancellation of bail granted to the Kadapa MP.
Arguing on behalf of Sunitha, senior advocate Siddharth Luthra said Chaitanya Reddy, son of Avinash Reddy’s associate Shivashankar Reddy was threatening one of the accused Dastagiri who had turned an approver in the case. Luthra explained to the court the developments in the case so far.
After serving notices to the defendants, the Supreme Court deferred the hearing to a later date.
