People gained, only KCR family lost jobs: Revanth

Known for his sharp retorts at his political rivals, Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday pooh-poohed the statement of Bharat Rashtra Samithi president and former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao that people had realised what they had lost by voting for the Congress.

“One big leader made a political comment that the people of Telangana have come to know what they have lost in 10 months. He should realise that the Telangana people have lost nothing, Only KCR’s family has lost four jobs in the last 10 months,” Revanth Reddy said.

He said during the 10 months’ tenure, unemployed youth got jobs and farmers relived from the mounting debt burden by the farm loan waiver scheme.

“More than 1.5 crore women benefited from free TGSRTS bus travel scheme. Now the debt ridden RTC is also earning profits,” he said. Readmore!

He further said 49.90 lakh families were the beneficiaries of 200 units of free power supply scheme. They were also benefitted by distribution of cooking gas cylinder at only Rs 500 and enhanced Arogyasri scheme limit to Rs 10 lakhs for medical treatment, he said.

The chief minister pointed out that 21,000 teachers were already promoted and the people's government has the credit of transferring 35,000 teachers.

“KCR constructed state secretariat and Pragati Bhavan for 'Vaastu' reasons, but has not built own buildings for residential school. The Congress government started the construction of Young India Residential Schools in 100 constituencies,” he said.

The state government supported farmers and the unemployed in 10 months and also providing quality education to the students.

“We have done all these things as part of the reconstruction of Telangana. No one is feeling sad because of your absenteeism. Telangana society has already forgotten you. The people do not require your services,” he said.

He said the people had seen absentees in the schools. But they are now witnessing a strange situation of the main opposition leader not attending the assembly session, he added.
