Andhra Pradesh Congress leaders are expressing concern that Sharmila’s actions are further weakening the already fragile party in AP.
Some leaders recently complained to the Congress high command, alleging that Sharmila is prioritizing personal issues with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy over party interests, sending the wrong message to party ranks.
They recall that Jagan Mohan Reddy had previously supported Congress post-Haryana elections, by rising suspicions on EVM tampering, and question why Sharmila is causing damage to the party by condemning him.
Leaders are also raising doubts about the election results in Andhra Pradesh, with former minister Shailajanath questioning discrepancies and delays in the Election Commission's reporting.
Criticism has intensified over Sharmila’s recent tweet against the YSRCP government.
Congress leaders argue that attacking YSRCP now, after its own mistakes led to its defeat, serves no purpose and fear that if Sharmila continues in her role, the Congress party's prospects could worsen.
