In Harrisburg, the capital of the state of Pennsylvania in the United States, the Mid-Atlantic TANA Team organized an "Adopt a Highway" program to raise awareness about social responsibility.
As part of community service, the busiest road was adopted. As part of this program, the Mid-Atlantic TANA team has undertaken several initiatives to not only clean the road environment but also preserve the greenery.
Elders and many students actively participated in this program under the auspices of Harrisburg TANA team and made this program a success.
On this occasion, Venkat Singu, Regional Coordinator of Mid Atlantic TANA, said that the Telugu Association of North America (TANA) has taken this program to inculcate the will to serve the community by merging with the Mainstream community.
TANA Board of Director Ravi Potluri thanked the Harrisburg TANA team for undertaking such a great program and making it a success.
Many students who participated in this volunteer program said that this program which is very beneficial to the society has created a better understanding of nature and they have learned how to preserve nature and greenery.
Many of the enthusiastic participants in this program wished to undertake many more such programs for the benefit of the society to develop the sense of service among the students under the leadership of TANA.
