Chennai: In light of the weather forecast warning about the possibility of heavy rains in Chennai, the people got alerted. Residents in the vicinity of Velachery have been parking their cars on the flyovers.
As a result traffic police are issuing fines for the parked vehicles.
Recently, many vehicles have been severely damaged due to heavy rains and floods. Consequently, the owners of the vehicles are parking on flyovers to protect them.
This is the plight of basic flood water management infrastructure in a popular metropolitan city, Chennai.
Flood Alert
The Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) issued a red alert in many parts of Chennai. The weather department predicted 20 cm of rain in a single day during the monsoon.
