Here is the third-quarter report of Tollywood. Let's take a look at the hits and misses of the films released in July, August, and September of 2024 at the Tollywood Box Office.
In July, there were no notable films to mention, and all 11 small films released this month were washed out at the box office, including Raj Tarun's Purushottamudu and Priyadarshi's Darling.
Moving on to August, out of many films released, the notable ones were Committee Kurrollu, Mr. Bachchan, Double iSmart, Aay, Maruthi Nagar Subrahmanyam, and Saripodhaa Sanivaram.
Out of these, Committee Kurrollu performed well, attracting young crowds to the theaters. Another small film, Aay, also worked well and turned out to be a hit.
The third mentionable small film of the season was Maruthi Nagar Subrahmanyam, which garnered critical acclaim, though its theatrical performance was not as anticipated.
The big films Double iSmart and Mr. Bachchan turned out to be commercial failures, while Saripodhaa Sanivaram ended up as an average performer.
In September, the films 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu, GOAT, Satyam Sundaram, and Devara were released.
Out of these, 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu received a lot of critical acclaim and made good collections as well.
Satyam Sundaram, featuring a big star cast like Karthi and Arvind Swamy, was initially targeted for OTT but released in theaters. It earned critical acclaim but had poor collections.
GOAT was a major flop at the box office due to weak content.
